I’m Caroline Hudson, founder of The Kitchen Table Teacher, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

With over 30 years of experience as a primary teacher and leader, I’ve had the privilege of teaching across all age ranges and specialising in Oracy, English, and Maths.

I’m passionate about using talk as a transformative tool to deepen understanding and embed lasting knowledge, making it the foundation of my teaching.

There is a sign on the table that reads 'Welcome to our group. Kitchen Table Teacher'. Behind the woman, there is a large window with potted plants and a garden outside.

Throughout my career, I’ve conducted research into oracy, implemented whole-school planning, delivered tailored CPD, and monitored progress to drive meaningful change. My approach is rooted in kindness, knowledge, and fun, inspiring confident, motivated learners while building trust and strong relationships with children, staff, and parents.

I also lead parental engagement projects in schools and communities, empowering parents to feel valued as equal partners in their child’s education. These projects focus on building trust, educational knowledge, and ambition, delivering real improvements in attendance, attainment, and family aspirations.
